I am an entrepreneur and angel investor who likes building things with mobile and internet technologies. I recently co-founded Incito Ventures, an angel group for tech startups with women (and not only) in their founding teams and passed the reigns back to Finance South East and Sally Goodsell – who funded it – to get on to my next big thing.
I learned about startups as an angel investor co-investing with VCs and as a mentor of startups like SlickFlick, Improve Digital, anywhere.me, Maplecroft, Stingray ($80M exit) et al. Amongst other things, I invested in and joined the founder of a tiny startup called CipherGrid and together braved an alpha release of a database-in-the-cloud for developers in the Dark Ages of 2004.
What seems like centuries ago, I was a senior manager at Andersen and Ernst & Young, working with web technologies and process re-engineering. I came to the UK to intern in the construction business of Thames Water after I won the CBI scholarship for “Overseas engineers with outstanding potential” (long before Lord Sugar informs the world of the engineers’ lack of business acumen).
A random list of my current and past activities includes Seedcamp, the Investor Advisory Council of Astia (that explains where I got the gender-bug), The Prince’s Trust & The Young Enterprise.
When the week goes at higher than average velocity, I get on to the fencing piste. Touché!
